Melbourne Ice Wolves are proud to be part of the IceHQ Women's Summer League, providing further opportunities in Ice Hockey to female and female-identifying players.

Divisions

​

All skaters of all abilities are welcome and will have a place in our program, with line combinations and in-game play being managed via a buzzer system to ensure that players of equal ability are on the ice at the same time.

​

The WSL is open to all female and female-identifying players ages 13 and up and is a non-checking competition. 

​

Please note: Female and female-identifying players aged 13-14 are eligible to play in BOTH the WSL and the JSL Junior B competitions! 

​

Teams will be formed via a grading skate and selected by a panel of coaches.

​

The WSL teams will be configured with a view towards parity and healthy competition, whilst still considering existing club and family affiliations.

​

Season Dates

 

With the WSL commencing with a 4 team operating model, both games will be held at iceHQ on Sunday afternoons, in the following time slots:

​

• Game 1) 2:15pm - 3:15pm

• Game 2) 3:30pm - 4:30pm

 

Dates for the season 2022 schedule are as follows:

​

• January 16th - Draft / Grading Skate (2 hours)

• January 23rd (Round 1) - March 20th (Round 9)

• March 27th - All Star Game & Skills Competition

• April 3rd - Grand Final (1 vs 2)

Fees

​

League fees: $300

Your $75 deposit will be deducted from the league fees and the balance can be paid over two instalments:

​

• 50% - prior to Round 1

• 50%  - prior to Round 8

​

IHV Registration: $45 (6 months)

​

IHA Membership/Insurance

​

If you currently hold IHA membership/insurance from the winter season, you are automatically covered for the summer season.

​

If you do not hold IHA membership/insurance pricing is as follows for the summer season:

​

• Over 18 as of March 1st, 2021: $104.50

• Under 18 as of March 1st, 2021: $82.50

​

Training

​

In addition to scheduled games and the existing Women’s Development Training program, iceHQ will also offer its own (optional) training and development sessions, to be held on Wednesday evenings, in the following date ranges: 

​

• Wednesday 2nd February - Wednesday 6th April - $250
